Blog Catch-up: December 2011

Christmas Tree
We were over on the island on the first weekend of December, and so we headed out with Tim and Isabelle and mom and dad to choose and cut down a Christmas tree. Josefin was home with 2-day old Mia. Back home in Vancouver later that day, we decorated.

Hockey Game!
Anna was so so happy to get to join her daddy at a Canucks hockey game at the beginning of December. She was waving her flag and shouting "Go Canucks Go!" right along with the rest of them.

Open House
We had an open house style glogg get-together for about 60 people on the weekend before Christmas. It was a great way to make the house feel like a home.

Christmas
The number of kids at our Christmas celebrations grows every year, with a total of 6 cousins this year, the youngest not even a month old.

Skiing
Thanks to some new skis that she got from farmor and farfar for Christmas this year, Anna is off to a great start at cross country skiing. She absolutely loves it, especially when she gets to go really fast down the hills with daddy.

Blog Catch-up: November 2011

Knitting Weekend
Every November, the girls that I knit with every month head off for a weekend of knitting, conversation and good food. This year, we rented a chalet near Mt. Baker.

East 6th Avenue

On November 1st, we picked up the key for our new rental house (the "red house", as Anna calls it), and a couple of weeks later we moved in. It was chaos for a while.

Creekside Cottage

After a hard week of moving and unpacking, we spent a lovely weekend with Curt, Kate and the boys at their cottage in Tuwanek. What a place!

First Advent
Anna and I managed to squeeze in a quick safron bun bake the day before first advent - yum!

Mia!
And then our sweet little niece Mia was born, very punctually arriving on her due date of November 30th. Love at first sight.

Blog Catch-up: October 2011

Hiking and Park Play
October is still a great month to get out for some wanders in the woods and spend time at the park.

Newstead Juniors
In October, we shipped Kate and Curt off to their cottage on the Sunshine Coast, and we stayed at their place and took care of the boys for them. It was a beautiful weekend, so we could spend lots of time outdoors, and the boys were so much fun.

Thanksgiving

Every year, Kate and Curt host Thanksgiving at their place for a whole slew of people. We are usually in Nanaimo, but with the house up for sale this year we needed to stick around and were happy to be able to join in on the festivities.

Halloween

Anna was very very excited about Halloween this year. It was the first year that she understood that there was candy inside the wrapped packages she was given. Yum!
