Trout Lake

Today we went on a walk at Trout Lake park. Gorgeous gorgeous weather and Anna slept like a log in the Baby Björn after fussing for a while in the stroller. She definitely wants to be close as much as possible. I don't know how long this summer weather can continue, but we're going to be out enjoying it as long as it lasts...

Anna also got to say hi to her farfar this morning in skype - we're so happy that he and farmor are coming for a visit soon!

First Day Home Alone with Mom

Today was the first day that Anna and I were home on our own. Up until now, either Patrik or mormor have been here to help out during the days, but today we flew solo. It went well - I just have to get a bit better at getting a few things done during the day, and also at managing to nap when we've had a long night of little sleep. Anna was up quite a bit last night and didn't settle down to sleep very easily, so today would have been a good day for a nap. But, Anna doesn't like to sleep on her own during the day... We went out on a walk and she slept in the Baby Björn for a couple of hours, but when we got home she wouldn't go down for a nap except for on my belly. So, I got to rest, but not sleep...

Little Nest

It was a beautiful warm fall day in Vancouver today, and we took a walk over to Commercial Drive and went out to eat for the first time since Anna arrived in our lives. The Little Nest is a restaurant that caters to families, and is absolutely spilling over with little kids. It feels pretty nice as a new parent not to worry about the baby crying or needing to nurse her in a strange place, because everyone there is doing the same thing. It was a great afternoon!

Small Hands

Anna's little hands are about as big as her daddy's thumb. She feels pretty safe in his arms, with her little hands dwarfed by his.

Nap Time...

Sometimes it's nice to take long naps in mom's arms. And, mom doesn't mind at all...

Mormor

Anna has had such a nice week with mormor staying with us, and it was not easy to say goodbye to her last night when she went home to Nanaimo. While mom was taking naps, mormor and Anna were out for walks or just cuddling. She will be missed until we see her again, and we sent her home with big hugs for morfar whom she misses too.

Loving the Baby Björn

We took the first walk with the Baby Björn today, and lilla Anna thought it was fantastic. To get to be so close to mamma's heartbeat and be out in the fresh air was blissful. Thanks faster Malin!

Anna also got weighed today and is up to 8 lbs 6 ozs - we're so happy that she's gaining after my bout with mastitis :)

Content in Daddy's Arms

Anna misses her dad when he's off at work during the day, and loves to spend her time in his arms when he comes home. Sometimes she doesn't even want to let him eat his dinner first and she thinks that having one arm to eat with and one arm to hold her should be no problem ....

Paket från Farmor och Farfar!

Anna was so excited to get a package from farmor and farfar last night. What a cute little dress, and it's so fun that Malin wore it when she was little. We were looking in Patrik's baby album last night and there was a picture of Malin in it where she was wearing the dress. Now mom just has to go out and buy some warm stockings to put under it, and Anna will be wearing it in no time. The little purple doll became an instant favourite too. It's going to spend alot of time in Anna's mouth!

Tack farmor och farfar!

Anna och Isabelle

Yesterday Anna got to meet her one girl cousin, Isabelle, older than her by 9 weeks. With 5 boy cousins she thinks it's pretty great to have another girl in the bunch. They went for a walk together and then just hung out at the house getting to know each other.

Anna was pretty tuckered out afterwards, and took a nice long nap....

Starting to Meet the Clan

Anna has been sooooo happy this past week to start meeting her extended family. Mormor is in Vancouver for a week and loves changing her diaper, birping her, and pretty much taking any excuse to hold her as much as possible. Aunts and uncles on the Johansson side have come over for visits and she's met her three Canadian cousins. She's sad that she's not closer to her farmor, farfar, cousins Hugo, Viggo and Frans, faster Malin and Daniel. Skype goes a little ways to close the distance, but it's not the same as a cuddle in their arms. She can't wait to meet them.

Introducing Anna Liv Eliasson

She's here! It's been hard finding the time to write this blog entry because it's hard to hold Anna and type at the same time, and holding Anna is pretty hard not to do :) Our beautiful daughter arrived on September 11th at 7:31 PM, weighing 3850 grams and measuring 52.5 cm long. That's exactly the same birth weight as her dad, but she beat him in length by half a centimeter. She looks alot like her dad - she's got his eyes and we get a glimpse of her dimples every once in a while. She is such an amazing little person, and we can hardly believe our luck that she is ours!

September 6th Came and Went....

Our due date came and went this weekend, but lillan is soooooo happy in my belly, and since she gets to spend the rest of her life on the outside, she thinks that she might as well stay put for a while and enjoy the warmth and constant food and hugs that she gets on the inside. With her being late, though, it did leave us time for a photo shoot with Tanya, which was a lot of fun. Let's hope that this is maximum belly size...

Just About Ripe...

I'm getting rounder and rounder, and feeling like I'm just about ready to pop. We're only a few days from our due date now, though there is no telling when lillan will decide that she's ready to join us. We can hardly wait to meet her!
