Sweden Part I - Jamtland 'at the Table'

And we were off! To Sweden, that is, on our short but sweet 2 1/2 week vacation. How we had looked forward to this trip!

After four flight legs, and a few way-too-close-for-comfort connections, we arrived in Ostersund. Farmor and farfar were waiting for us with open arms, and Anna didn't hesitate to jump into them right away. But there was no time to waste at the airport because we had arrived just in time to head to Hugo's end of year school ceremony. It was so nice to get to take part in it!

And afterwards, we were treated to the first of many great meals, this one being out on the patio at Daniel and Malin's, in 27 degree weather. Nice!

We stayed in Ostersund at Malin and Daniel's place for the first couple of days of our trip. And the kids had a blast getting to play together at last. And in between all of the play, there were trips back to the table for building monsters...

and of course getting ready to eat some more.

After a couple of days in Ostersund, we headed to farmor and farfars house in Lit for a good part of the rest of our stay. Although we didn't spend all of our time around the table, it is such a natural place to gather, and we spent some great times with folks we love around the table.

A visit with Olof and Nadia.

Lunch, dinner, fika and breakfast with Birgitta and Per-Gunnar. Thanks for coming all the way up!

A 'pre-birthday' dinner and cake for me - what a surprise! More on my birthday in another post.

Breakfast with Uffe, Nettan, Sally and Ebbe.

Lunch at the "Thermos" with Hogge.

Fika with Jocke, Liselotte, and Linus (less than one week old!)

As you can see, we spent an awful lot of time around the table, but that's not all we did. In Part II of our summer vacation, we'll head out on the water.
